Edna Star Wheel printing press at Brightside Barn

Brightside Barn

Art Studio and Gallery

A recently renovated listed 18th century barn in the beautiful Eden Valley, Cumbria.

Brightside Barn enjoys stunning views of the Pennines and Lakeland hills

and is the working art studio and gallery

of Tim Watson, landscape artist; and Cathryn Beckett, artist and printmaker.

Our centrepiece, affectionately known as Edna, is a 200 year old star wheel printing press,

previously used by David Hockney in the early 1960s.

We occasionally open up our studio to offer fabulous, and fully inclusive, painting

and printmaking workshops; complete with delicious home made food.

See our Workshops page for more information.

We look forward to welcoming you -

If our sandwich board is out, we're in!
